LIFT for Women is a women’s-only strength and conditioning program with one purpose: To build confidence through strength. The style of training and the numerous tools and methods we use in LIFT create strong, capable women who are ready for any task.  

LIFT for Women began as a way to rebuild the minds and bodies of women. In the seven years as Head Coach of this program, I've seen an unmatched community of empowered, confident, and truly strong women flourish under my guidance. LIFT for Women unites mothers, grandmothers, college students, young professionals, and competitive athletes under the common goal of constantly testing and surpassing their limits. There are no levels; there is only effort, group motivation, and progress.

I’m not interested in working toward the goals society pushes on women--outdated and fragile versions of beauty, avoiding getting dirty, having muscles, or having a voice and opinion. My coaching is geared toward showing women that their power is already within them. All it takes is hard work, a supportive community of peers sweating alongside them, and some helpful guidance to come into their own strength. Every woman has this potential, no matter her age or experience.

What I ask is that you show up ready to work, willing to fail, and excited to cheer others on. My goal is to help women find their confidence and discover what they’re truly capable of--body and mind, inside and outside the gym.

This is for athletes that have never set foot in a LIFT class. 

 

INTRO MONTH $79.

This is for athletes that have never set foot in LIFT or TCS. With this special you get unlimited classes for an entire month. These classes include LIFT, Praxis Barbell, sprints, conditioning, and strongman classes.

After graduating from Texas State University in 2004 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology, I began my fitness career in Houston, training at the big-name gyms. It didn't take long for me to realize that globo-gyms are the opposite of fun and effective, and that there had to be something else out there that combined lifting weights and enjoying my job. 

 I found CrossFit in 2009, and for five years I coached and built a solid framework of knowledge and fitness. I saw a need for a specialized training group for women only; my goal was to provide women with a safe, judgement free, non competitive arena to lift weights, get stronger and more skilled, and enjoy the company of other awesome women. I started with three women, and LIFT has grown to over 55 women in 2017.

I attended every certification I could afford, but found my passion in one in particular: Zach Even-esh's "Undergound Strength Coach" certification. He opened my eyes to real garage-gym training, lifting with whatever you could get your hands on; tires, chains, sleds, and ropes. I was blown away by his program, and in 2012 LIFT's focus switched to a Strongman base. 

With a clear vision for the future of LIFT, I teamed up with Travis Holley to open Travis County Strength in December of 2013. 

Travis County Strength has been hopping and rocking ever since. We have over 100 supportive, hilarious, driven, and amazing clients. We are a gym loaded with everyday people doing extraordinary things, all working independently on personal goals while working as a team to strengthen our community in the most positive way possible.

LIFT is a welcoming space for all women wanting to become pregnant, who are pregnant, or who have recently had a baby. I have coached 14 women and 15 pregnancies in the past seven years. All moms are welcome with open arms. 

Pregnant does not mean handicapped.

As an expecting or post-partum mom at LIFT, you will find that you're doing all the same movements as everyone else. You are a working athlete. You might be doing less with a decreased range of motion, but you will be keeping your fitness level high throughout your pregnancy. You are preparing for the most intense workout of your life! 

In LIFT you will be surrounded by years of experience when it comes to working out while pregnant, including the emotional and physical changes that accompany it. This is a special group of women who make it their daily goal while in class to lift you up and support you. 

I am a certified Birthfit coach, and I've dedicated the past seven years to working exclusively with women. I've learned that it's different and more rewarding than coaching in any other arena. I'm continuously reading and engaging with doulas and chiropractors to provide the best and safest pre- and post-natal fitness experience possible. 

One hundred percent of my pregnant athletes have come back to LIFT within six weeks of delivery!

The first Friday of each month, women from all over Austin get together to lift weights and have fun in a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere. Open to all fitness levels; $10 drop-in.
